The exhibition is divided into four thematic weeks, focusing on students’ work on various audiovisual and performing arts projects. The theme weeks include lectures, performances and concerts.

1. PROJECTION: Digital Visual Arts Week (12.–14.11.)

The first week will explore immersive projection and video mapping techniques, and students will spend the week making digital sets for the Lumo piece to be presented the following week. The Visual Design specialisation of Oamk’s Communication Studies programme is responsible for the implementation of the theme week. Some of the content will be produced in cooperation with the University of Lapland and Toronto Metropolitan University. The content of the week can be followed during the opening hours of the Art Museum.

The space is closed to the public for rehearsals 18.–21.11.

2. PRESENTATION: KULO at the Lumo light festival (22.–24.11.)

Oamk’s Music Education, Dance and Communication degree programmes will produce the multi-sensory KULO artpiece, which explores cyclical natural phenomena without forgetting the human impact.

KULO will be open from Friday to Sunday in the Tasku space of the Oulu Art Museum at 16–22. During the Lumo weekend, free admission to the art museum is at 11–22.

3. EXPANSION: Building a Spatial Sound System and Spatial Music Week (26.–28.11.)

The Music Technology major and the Centre for Arts Innovation research programme at Oamk in collaboration with Nykymusiikkiseura Lokakuu ry will present and explore the construction, calibration and use of a higher-order Ambisonics sound system in the context of electroacoustic music and sound art. The week will include public lectures, workshops and concerts, and will pave the way for the international Oulu Spatial Music Workshop week that will close the exhibition.
