Founded in 1945, Pohjan Some was the first retailer of Marimekko in Northern Finland. The company’s other brands included Aarikka, Kalevala Koru, Iittala and Arabia. The Sirkka Karppinen Collection consists mainly of paintings and drawings by artists from Oulu and North Ostrobothnia.

Sirkka Karppinen Collection
This collection is based on the bequest of Sirkka Karppinen (1913–2003), the long-time manager of Pohjan Some, a company that marketed design products and art handicraft items in Oulu.
