Terttu Jurvakainen (born 1939) lives and works in Muhos. She has worked as an independent painter for almost 60 years. She is known for large-scale, colorful, and powerfully emotional abstract paintings with thoughtful and visual connections to the seasons, landscapes, and nature. Some paintings, such as her flower themes, represent her more figurative hand, transferring the viewer into summery gardens or florists’ delights.
Oulu Art Museum previously organized the Loistava paletti exhibition in the spring of 2019 which celebrated Terttu Jurvakainen’s life work extensively.
