The OJ Foundation, which was dedicated to the life’s work of Kiiminki-born sculptor Oskari Jauhiainen (1913–1990), was dissolved in winter 2015. The Oskari Jauhiainen Museum, which had been operating in Kiiminki since 1997, closed in 2014 and the museum building has since then been demolished. The Jauhiainen works in the foundation’s possession were returned to the artist’s estate, which in turn donated some of the works to the City of Oulu. These works and works deposited by the family are on display in a permanent exhibition of Jauhiainen’s art in Gallery Oskari Jauhiainen, which opened in spring 2015 as part of Kiiminki Library.
The Oskari Jauhiainen Collection
