Donations that complement existing collections are prioritised. We also consider the usability of the artworks for the museum: whether the artwork can be placed in a public space and if it is suitable for exhibitions. The artworks should be linked to Oulu, the region or North Ostrobothnia through the artist, subject or history. On the other hand, a wide range of contemporary and older domestic art is also considered.
Customer contacts are treated confidentially. The backgrounds and ownership histories of the artworks should preferably be known as well as possible.
If a donation offer concerning a single artwork or a larger collection of works results in a positive decision, the museum will assume responsibility for preparing the necessary documentation as well as the transport arrangements and costs.
