“In my emotion pictures I look at the individuals through the camera lens gently. Working with the group I realised they also looked at me with kindness”, says art mentor Martu Väisänen.

Oulu Art Museum’s touring exhibition Encounters features works by thirteen artists from Utajärvi, Ii, Simo and Oulu.

The exhibition also features photographs that document community art from Simo and Pudasjärvi as well as online video and audio works that are accessed using QR codes. Art mentors and project artists of the individual projects were Talvikki Pisilä, Tuomo Kangasmaa, Heidi Ranta and Mika Kiviniemi.

The works in the exhibition have been created in the Lähde! art projects of the Oulunkaari federation of municipalities and in Art Centre KulttuuriKauppila in Ii.
