Oulu Art Museum welcomes all Ukrainians to enjoy the exhibitions. Guided audio tours have been produced with the intention of creating new connections and deepening our co-operation with the Ukrainian community.

Ukraine’s First Lady Olena Zelenska announced an initiative for Ukrainian-language audio tutorials in 2020. This year, the initiative has spread worldwide as a show of support for Ukraine under attack and Ukrainians fleeing the war. Currently, museums and heritage sites in 26 countries offer audio guides in Ukrainian.

The recorded guides are made available on the SoundCloud platform. You can listen to them on your smartphone during the exhibition tour at the museum. Devices for using the audio guide can also be borrowed from the museum’s service desk.

The texts for the Seasons in Us exhibition at the Oulu Museum of Art have been produced by museum educators Satu Larivaara-Heikkala and Hanna-Leena Ruottinen in collaboration with curator Elina Vieru. The Ukrainian translations have been made by visual artist Vasili Reskalenko and the audio guides by Nina Bokalo.

The audio guide has received a grant from the Finnish Museum Association.
